Upcoming Experiences

Source to Sea Cleanup 2021 -

This year we're doing our part to help keep our rivers clean, safe, and accessible. On Friday, September 24, we'll be joining the Connecticut River Conservancy for a day of paddling and trash collection on the Connecticut River as a part of their annual Source to Sea river cleanup project. For more information on Source to Sea - as well as all the great work that CRC is doing year-round - visit their site here.

Please see the calendar for all available experiences, but be sure to check back frequently as we are continuously adding exciting experiences throughout the year.

A leisurely loop paddle reminiscent of the old fashioned “Sunday Drive” from the Sunderland Boat Access up around the islands nestled between Mounts Toby and Sugarloaf is a great way to connect with nature and center yourself for the week ahead. With peak New England fall foliage on display, this is an ideal outing for leaf peepers looking for a new take on a beloved fall tradition.

Unwind after work with an easy, evening paddle.

This is a gentle loop from the Sunderland Boat Ramp access around Sunderland Islands Wildlife Management Area - First Island and Second Island. This excursion is a good introduction to upstream paddling and exploring a mid-river island where there are nesting bald eagles.

Saturday, 10/09/2021

This outing will be a 9 mile paddle from the Poplar Street access downriver to the Sunderland Boat Ramp. It will include a peek up the Deerfield River and exploration of some islands and sandbars which will provide us with excellent potential opportunities for birdwatching as bald eagles and other birds of prey can be often be spotted on this route.
