Mt Toby Geology Tour with Professor Richard Little

We invite you to join us on this educational road trip that will reveal amazing geological phenomenon right in our own back yards! We will circle Mount Toby making stops along the way to take short hikes and become geological explorers. We will discover evidence of the plate tectonic collisions that made the sub-continent of Pangea. Noticing the geology of the valley we can skip ahead to the glacial ages; we will see evidence of the last glacier that was here but melting away about 16,000 years ago. One of the final events of the time of glacial melt was the creation of Lake Hitchcock. The area that lake Hitchcock covered is now known as the Connecticut River Valley. Our journey will reveal all the facets of geological history. This is the best place in the world to study geology.
