This Experience will take paddlers on a 10-mile journey to explore the natural wonders of one of the most beautiful stretches of the Connecticut River. Along the way we will stop for a picnic lunch and explore islands and sandbars where Bald Eagles and other birds of prey can often be spotted.

Soaring overhead are majestic bald eagles with their powerful, seven-foot wingspan in search of shad and lamprey for their newly fledged offspring. Through conservation efforts, nesting pairs of bald eagles are at record levels along this quiet stretch of the Connecticut River. Join us for an unforgettable half-day birding adventure led by a senior naturalist and certified kayak guide, this guided trip offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and observe a diverse array of bird life in their natural habitat. Our past journeys have allowed sightings of American bald eagles soaring overhead, vigilant red-tailed hawks perched in trees, and the delicate dance of sandpipers and other shorebirds along the banks.

Designed for experienced kayakers familiar with swift-moving waters, this adventure will not only enhance your paddling skills but also deepen your appreciation for the avian wonders that grace our skies. Don't miss out on this extraordinary experience to witness the beauty of eagles up close. Help us count eagle nests and individuals as part of our annual citizen science consensus.
