Pangaea and Lake Hitchcock Geology Tour with Prof Richard Little

We invite you to join us on this educational road trip that will reveal amazing geological phenomenon in our local woods like evidence of the birth and death of the supercontinent Pangaea! We will meet in Sunderland then drive to the "great wall of Erving" together, where we'll begin our road trip of awe and learning. We will discover evidence of the plate tectonic collisions that made Pangaea and see evidence of the glaciers here about 16,000 years ago. You'll explore how the glacial melting created Lake Hitchcock, which is now the Connecticut River Valley. Our journey will reveal so many facets of the geological history of our region, which is arguably one of the best places in the world to study geology!!
