This guided evening paddle begins in the warm glow of sunset and carries you gently into full night. Launching in Sunderland and traveling downstream to Hatfield, we move at a relaxed pace as the river shifts through golden hour, twilight, and finally starlight. Guides manage logistics and group spacing, allowing you to focus on the changing colors, reflections on the water, and the subtle transition from day to night.

Who This Trip Is For
Ideal for paddlers ages 12+ with prior tour kayaking experience who are comfortable maintaining steady boat control on moving water as light fades. Participants should be able to paddle at a moderate pace and follow guide instructions for night travel and group awareness.
Location & Route
Where: Connecticut River, Western Massachusetts. Route: Downstream paddle from the Sunderland launch to the Hatfield Boat Ramp, covering approximately 6 miles. Pace & Timing: Evening start timed to sunset, with roughly 3 hours on the water as daylight gives way to starlight. A shuttle returns paddlers to the launch at the end of the trip.
